The waltz is a smooth dance. It is characterized by moving along a line of dance. Taking a step, a slide and a three quarter step with rise and fall movements form the basics of the dance. The shoulders of the dancers have to be aligned with the floor in a smooth fashion. The aim of the dancers is to expand each stride taken. In the initial beat of music a step is taken on the heel ,then onto the ball of the foot and extend to the toes in the second and third order of music. At the conclusion of the third step the feet should be returned to their initial position.
The classical aspect and rotational movements are elements of the Viennese waltz. The partners rotate on the floor while revolving around each other. The speed that is involved in the movements are faster than those of the waltz. There is a popular version of it for social events as it is basically not strenuous and can be effected with ease. It features sweeping turns and graceful motions that exude an image of simplicity and elegance.
The foxtrot dance is characterized by walking steps and side steps. The characteristic long motions , rise and fall actions basic in the waltz are applied in a smoother fashion. The dance line shares some resemblance with that of a waltz but the diversity is portrayed clearly in the timing. The steps may be quickened or slowed utilizing a beat or two in that order.
People have been more receptive to the tango. This factor may have been contributed by its ability to exhibit romantic tendancies. The presence of both parties of the opposite sex is necessitated. It is comprised of distinct dance steps all under the same wing. The type of tango being undertaken may be characterized by an open or closed embrace. The open embrace gives personal space to both partners while its counterpart involves contact in the chest or hip areaThe ballroom dance encompasses movements that convey feelings that have not been uttered.
